Toy Care
Some simple care tips to help keep your CuteWoods wooden toys looking beautiful, safe, and ready for years of joyful play.
Love & Care for Your Toys
Suitable Toy Environment
- Store your wooden toys in a cool, dry, and dust-free environment with proper ventilation.
- Avoid keeping toys in areas with excessive moisture, direct water exposure, or high humidity, as prolonged exposure may affect the natural wood.
- If the toy gets exposed to outdoor conditions or accidental water contact, gently wipe off any moisture and allow it to dry completely in a shaded area before use.
- Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, rain, or extreme temperatures to maintain the beauty and durability of the wood.
Regular Toy Maintenance
- Wooden toys can be cleaned using a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and dirt.
For regular cleaning, use a slightly damp cloth followed by a dry cloth to remove moisture completely. - Always ensure the toy is completely dry after cleaning before giving it back to children.
- For small marks or stains, gently spot clean using mild soap mixed with water. Wipe with a damp cloth and dry immediately.
- For toys used frequently by younger children, especially toys that may be mouthed, regular cleaning is recommended to maintain hygiene.
Deep Cleaning & Long-Term Care
- Regular cleaning helps maintain the appearance and usability of wooden toys, while occasional deep cleaning helps extend their life.
- For stubborn marks or stains, gently clean the affected area using a soft cleaning sponge or cloth. Avoid using abrasive materials that may damage the finish.
- To maintain the natural shine and finish of the wood, occasional polishing with a child-safe wood wax or natural wood oil is recommended.
Wood Buffing & Maintenance Process
To refresh the natural beauty of your wooden toy:
- Apply a small amount of child-safe wood wax or natural wood oil onto the surface.
- Allow it to absorb for a few minutes as recommended by the product instructions.
- Wipe gently using a clean cotton cloth in the direction of the wood grain.
- Continue wiping until the surface feels smooth, dry, and non-sticky.
Wooden toys are made from natural materials, so slight variations in wood grain, colour, and texture are normal and add to the unique character of each piece. Avoid using harsh chemicals, bleach, or strong cleaning agents, as they may damage the natural finish of the toy. Do not immerse wooden toys in water or place them in a washing machine. Regularly inspect toys for any signs of damage, and discontinue use if any part becomes damaged to ensure safe play.
